I'd completely forgotten I was identifying as an anarcha-feminist for a while years ago until I came across an old bio recently. I think I stopped because the specificity kind of bothered me, same way I was IDing as bi for a while before that felt too confining and I went back to queer?

But the current anti-feminist backlash is REALLY making me want to very clearly lead with "I'm a feminist (and not the liberal type)" in a lot more contexts.

@idzie
I've probably not paid enough attention, but are you referring to anti-feminist sentiments in leftist spaces? I had thought people here would be all in on that shit given what Mexican anarcha-feminists have been up to and the firebombing of anti-abortion offices. Are people being overbroad in their condemnation of white liberal feminism and just circling back to reactionary talking points?
@Helmic @idzie the use of "white liberal feminism" as an excuse to attack and drive out feminism per se is common, but they were reactionaries all along. there is no circling back happening, they just sense a more politically acceptable way to do classic right wing anti-feminism as vitriolically as they wish & pretend it's woke
@idzie @Helmic leftists largely willfully refuse to know about what mexican anarcha feminists are doing bc that is inconvenient for their gleeful race toward open undisguised misogyny and they really dislike the idea that anarchist praxis and radical direct action would be associated with feminists instead of the cool bro edgelord anarchists who do fuck-all
