Do you think it's possible for a person to fully divorce themselves from their gender and racial background? Or what are your thoughts here on that? Is there more you can say on not saying more about your background?
Not trying to be cute or anything, just wondering about the philosophy behind it.
@crossdavidl There's many aspects to identity, but they usually come down to two things:
1. How you perceive yourself
2. How others perceive you
In terms of identity, I believe that I have freedom in how I perceive myself, and I will not be denied that freedom.
How others perceive me, I can't control that. But I'll be damned if I let them *define* how I self-identify.
Is there an ends in mind doing that? Not limiting your own self-conception? A general aversion maybe to the way people are labeled and made commodities on social media advertising platforms?
Not to put words into your mouth or anything. Just wondering what rejection of definition does for you.
@crossdavidl I just prefer possibilities instead of termination of possibilities due to pervasive numbering, briefing, cataloging, or defining of an identity abstract.
I deny anyone's right to define me.
As a Libra, I'm a bit detail obsessive to not descend into analytical categorizing.
