“I’m going to stay and fight”

No you’re not. It isn’t a battleground. It is owned by one man who will do what he likes as long as he can and he’s able to continue to do so because you are creating statistics he is using to sell ad space and make it look like the platform is more active than ever.

You are enabling him, even with your “fighting.” Wake up. That’s what he wants. It HELPS him. You’re literally working for the man free of charge. #birdsite #twitter #TwitterMigration

@godlessmom Yes, the way you fight is to leave. How is one going to fight staying there? Sending mean tweets to Musk which will just increase his daily user statistics.
@tmstreet @godlessmom Someone pointed me to this and I clipped it because I thought it was spot on.
@statmonkey @tmstreet @godlessmom I deleted the app on my phone and iPad last night
@lauralth Congratulations Laura. Does it feel good? I have a few more tweets to remove and I am done. One new thing I am running up against is this. Say I want Katie Porter to be on Mastodon. (I do very much, by the way). Ordinarily, I would contact her through the Blue Bird of Fascism Site. Now, I feel I don't have that direct contact anymore.
@statmonkey I went to bed last night feeling like I had been swimming in a sewer full of rats. I got up. Couldn’t remember my password to deactivate so I just deleted the app. Yes, it feels like I took a shower. I used to love it and had gotten to the point that I felt I had actual influence.
@lauralth Same. I have many people over there who became IRL friends, and I keep in contact with them outside the app. I started on there in 2008. I felt all of that, I also realize I could not stay.
@tmstreet @godlessmom the only reasonable way to “fight” is as a mole reporting on which advertisers are still there so we know who to boycott.
