Mondrian Crescent

I love it when train doors align at the end of a tunnel. The red tiles at Green Park station make this the ideal location to capture this moment.

It wasn't luck though, instead I froze the moving train with a fast shutter. It took ages to get it centred.

This final image resembles an abstract art painting by Piet Mondrian.

@tubemapper this is ace. Thankyou for sharing
@tubemapper beautiful capture, the composiition is spectacular and the colours are so vivid
@tubemapper I thought it said Mornington Crescent for a moment. I'm sorry ...
@HollieK72 it was the best station name i could think of starting with the artists name Mondrian
@tubemapper It's a good name, and a great photo.
@tubemapper Well worth the effort. 👍🏻
@tubemapper Worth all the effort, though!
@tubemapper Brilliant! Great photo and colour. Been at that station so many times and this is just perfect ❤️
@wilybo yeah its lovely and easy not to notice how colourful those tiles are
@tubemapper @Xymbl Oh man that’s such a great shot! I used to use that station every day on my way to school and never thought of this! Bravo!
@kayakalison @Xymbl yeah I can of see the Tube Mapper project as finding the beauty in the mundane
@tubemapper @Xymbl I love everything about this!
@tubemapper This is gorgeous! Perfect timing.
@tubemapper stunning - I love the colours!
@jojophysicsgirl its very bright and colourful. Thanks jo
@tubemapper Great photo! (My wife is always telling me off for standing waiting for the moment!).
@tubemapper Beautiful image and symmetry.
@tubemapper This is fabulous, points surely do win prizes here!
@tubemapper This delites me to no end. My first favorite in five years on Mastodon.

@tubemapper

Stunning shot, well done!

I love the work of Piet Mondrian. Listening to the music of Louis Andriessen, particularly the piece De Stijl really opened my imagination to the concept of sliding panels in a musical context.

@tubemapper That is a really good shot... the symmetry and the colours - gorgeous!
@tubemapper that must be a pretty fast lens then!
@tubemapper Amazing shot. I love the idea there are spontaneous Mondrians in the world if we only looked for them.
@tubemapper this is so lovely. Those red tiles and the alignment of the red tube doors are just perfect.
Oh how I use to moan about the Tube, and specifically the Piccadilly line (always packed during commute time, including the bloody luggage of Heathrow arriving or departing folk) but damn if I am missing it, now. Currently living in the transit wasteland of north Seattle
@tubemapper I immediately thought Mondrian before reading your post. This came out great.
@tubemapper hell yeah, that's gorgeous! I'm also feeling a distinct Stanley Kubrick vibe from the composition, but the Mondrian vibe hits first and loudest.
@tubemapper #TMI! Let gullible viewers/buyers think that you have magick! Very well done, in either event.
@tubemapper great shot! Yes Mondrian. Maybe do a series of this same location, train just coming into view etc.
@tubemapper This is unbelievably satisfying to see, I can’t imagine how it felt to actually take it!
@tubemapper absolutely love this picture. How long did it take you to capture this piece of Mondrian Art? It's brilliant. Thanks for sharing.
@tubemapper Before I even read your post, the Mondrian was self-evident. Splendid work.
@tubemapper I LOVE THIS. And not just because I've actually been to Green Park Station.
@tubemapper You got the shot. That's all that matters. Good one.

@tubemapper

I can totally see the spirit of the architect who designed that just squeeing in glee that Somebody Gets It!

@tubemapper beautiful but also slightly disturbing if you stare at it long enough. An eyeworm.
