A nation with no right to "inconvenient protest", and protest that occurs "without permission", is not a nation that is free.

The right to protest is one of the most important rights any nation can protect.

Today, the UK truly lost that right.

Rishi Sunak on Twitter

“This afternoon I met police chiefs to make it clear that they have my full support in acting decisively to clamp down on illegal protests. The public have had enough of this disruption and those breaking the law should expect to feel the full force of it. #PublicOrderBill”

@LauraKBuzz this sounds like Russia... where every protest is an "illegal" protest. :/

@LauraKBuzz again, the Tories are goose stepping back to their ideal future: 1880s Britain.

Queen Vickie's Britain has always been their ideal past, present and future. Next stop child labor I guess?

@LauraKBuzz if no protesting is legal whatsoever, then there is no discrimination they can make on how we protest
Time to pull out all the stops
@LauraKBuzz Yeah, this is really bad. Can’t wait for the tories to lose power, that general election comes closer, hopefully whoever’s next in there has the time and capability and will to fix the utter disaster the past decade’s choices
