Jeroen TeeuwisseAch, wat spijtig. Maar dankzij je bericht met dit droevige nieuws, realiseer ik me dat ik geen werk van hen beiden samen heb (d.w.z. van ‘the thing with two heads’, that synergistic cartooning couple, Aline & R. Crumb). Tijd om daar verandering in te laten komen.

Robert Crumb on Instagram: "In 1991, Aline (Crumb's wife) organized her family's move from California to Southern France. Crumb's friends and publishers were upset with her decision to remove Robert from the setting which inspired so many stories and so much artwork. They believed, since Crumb was an American artist preoccupied with American history and popular culture (especially early 20th century American culture), he would be taken from the environment which fostered and nurtured his inspiration. She is a strong woman, no doubt about that. And she's probably the best thing to have ever happened to Robert Crumb."
