that blonde gear man is sin kiske btw, ky doesn't wear an eyepatch and is a lot more femme 
@00dani Sin Kiske is not a character I even knew was in the series, so I'll take this as a partial win for getting close =P
@coriander sin is ky and dizzy's son! he's one-quarter gear, since dizzy is half-gear, and he literally hatched from an egg
i guess dizzy lays eggs because she's a gear? or because she's kinda reptilian? it's not made clear whether any other gears do that besides her
but, sin doesn't know about the egg. he thinks his eyepatch is related to how he was born? he thinks he grew from one of ky's eyes, and is convinced baiken has a kid somewhere because she also wears an eyepatch
what actually happened is that his eyes had super gear powers and they were causing Problems, so ky swapped left eyes with him. and the patch prevents his original right eye from doing unwanted powerful things

like dizzy, he grew up Really Fast due to being part-gear
unlike dizzy, he's still pretty immature and doesn't know a lot of stuff
i think we can basically chalk that up to sol being worse at parenting than necro and undine
