For a long time I’ve been a Tweetbot completionist with a smaller curated list and used the main Twitter app for notifications/tweet composing/replying and the algo timeline of all my followers for quick “what’s happening now” browsing

Already this Ivory alpha has replaced my Tweetbot use (cutting my Twitter use in half basically) and I’m now a federverse completionist apparently 😅 - I’m going to need to set up lists soon because this place is so alive now I can’t keep up

@charliemchapman Huge FOMO on the Ivory alpha!

@simonbs if it helps you feel any better… no yeah it’s just amazing and you should snag it as soon as you can 😅

They’re really setting the bar with what this place can feel like, and the openness of this platform I think is going to lend itself to a vibrant ecosystem as long as enough people stick around. I’m actually getting pretty excited about the potential

@charliemchapman Lists are the only way Twitter was ever manageable. We'll see what ends up applying here.
@charliemchapman This is so exciting to hear. Knowing Talbots is going all in on Mastodon really completed the story for me. My Twitter timeline is a lot quieter now and having the opportunity to start my social circles from scratch here has been awesome. I’m so glad that the dev community (my primary community on Twitter/here) is so active here!

@colinhumber Yeah, I think theres a real possibility this will be a strong home for the developer community.

I’m still not sure some of my other circles (journalists/film/mograph/ect) will come over, but I’m ok using both for different purposes for now I think?

@charliemchapman For sure, same here. Pretty much all my sports/entertainment people are still over on Twitter, but I feel like I don't need to check it as often. I was worried the community would split a bit and I'd want to be on both equally to keep up. Relieved that doesn't seem to be the case.
@charliemchapman I love that feeling. I need to figure out lists that include hashtags because I know I’m missing out on cool people.
