Inflation is exacerbating the enormous gap between the rich and the poor.

The Fed's rate hikes are making it worse, placing the burden of fighting inflation squarely on those who can least afford it.

Meanwhile, corporate monopolies are making out like bandits.

@rbreich Exactly. Now lets organize to do something about it! We need to put ballot initiatives on the ballot in every state we can to address renters rights, evictions, minimum wage, corporate compensation, require corps to all become B Corp certified, etc.

@rbreich

Regardless of severity Capitalists are price gouging and getting away with it. I grew up in the 70’s where the very mention of price gouging got a lot of attention. Now its like “Player gonna do what a Player gonna do”

@rbreich kept reading the term stagflation for almost a year now in association with how the Fed plans on handling inflation now I think that was their goal.

Stagflation Is Just What the Economy Needs

The Federal Reserve should be — and appears to be — aiming for a period of elevated unemployment and inflation.

@rbreich Did you see @pkrugman 's blog on the burden of inflation? Care to comment? BTW, #gobiggreen
@rbreich
So true. Rate hikes show especially on loans for homes & small businesses. I wonder if ppl ever ask themselves who can't afford whatever because of the hike, who is making the historic profits and how has that paid off for them, the workers that made that corp to begin with? They should open their eyes because they are getting the scraps for hard labor. It is no less than modern day slavery.
