We lost power briefly so I figured it was an opportunity to check into #WinlinkWednesday and show Ben (W2BMK) and Jake how it works—without power and internet. Power was restored as we got started but the kids though it was cool. Jake even sent his mom an email.

@n2mak I love it how anytime hams lose power it's an opportunity to get on the air, somehow. (get on HF because the noise floor is so low, check in on the repeater to see if anyone else has a blackout, test out all the solar/battery gear, you name it).

@ai6yr LOL, I would always think of it after the fact. But I had just got out the radio to check into #WinlinkWednesday (I just learned Winlink this month) and then the power went out, likely due to the winds. But as soon as I got some flashlights and lanterns in position and the radio all set up, the power came back on, LOL. I primarily do #POTA, so I don't have a permanent setup at the QTH, which is why it usually slips my mind.
