@aurynn @ada @randomdent @dxciBel Nope. They're still limping along. Some Russian company bought it off of AOL quite a few years ago now and have been trying to position it as a mobile messenger and, more lately, video conferencing platform.

One should very much not use it.

@aurynn ICQ was most certainly not the first instant messaging app. Easily predated by (n/y/u)talk, further reading: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk_(software)

Also, it could be argued that rwall could be (ab)used by sysadmins for such things in a one way manner, but don't find out the hard way as jkd did! [further reading on the "rwall incident" here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jordan_Hubbard])
