Being forced to carry a pregnancy to term is wrong, even if you provide afterwards for the child to be adopted, or give the mother support to or anything after the birth, because being forced to carry a pregnancy to term is wrong in the first place.

Forced birth is involuntary servitude. I’ve been asked many times why I think Republicans want to control people’s bodies or why they won’t support basic needs like healthcare or livable wages. It’s because this is their desired outcome. More poverty is a bonus for them.

She Wasn’t Ready for Children. A Judge Wouldn’t Let Her Have an Abortion.

As abortion access dwindles, America’s “parental involvement” laws weigh heavily on teenagers — who may need a court’s permission to end their pregnancies.

@TonyStark I think government coerced pregnancies are gross. I think of all the changes to the female body, the aches and pains, all the doctor appointments (if they have insurance) and the actual birth and how the body tears. It's like they're playing God in a way by interfering with life this way.

The GOP is acting like China in a way and they haven't learned from China's mistake with its one child only policy. There's a shortage of females there. I thought I heard it was 5 males to 1 female. I imagine if the GOP has their way, that could detrimentally affect our population in some way.

But bottom line, it's just freaking gross that those men are forcing their will on women's bodies like they're cattle.

@trinitythecat

While China has the most skewed birthrate in the world and sex-selective abortion is a large contributor, the ratio of men/women at any age, or male/female births, is not 5:1 or anything close to it.

The one-child policy began in 1980 and ended in 2015 (but people were accustomed to having one child and didn't necessarily want a second). You can see where the ratio started to increase a few years later due to favoring of boys. At most, it's 117 boys to 100 girls. (Source: Statista)

Opinions are fine but the facts behind them should be correct.

@MariaHill @TonyStark Thank you! Surprise! I didn't do well in statistics. 😹 As further proof of my weakness in statistics, I'll ask this question. Can the 117:100 be broken down into smaller digits, like 12:10? Smaller numbers seem easier for my feeble cat brain to comprehend.

@trinitythecat

Because 117 and 100 don't have any factors in common, they can't exactly. I don't remember what grade math this is:

117 = 3 x 3 x 13
100 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 5

But it's not very far off from 12:10, so if thinking of there being 12 boys and 10 girls in every classroom in the elementary school helps you wrap your head around it, that's probably a good way to do it.
