and it's the blatant overtness of it today that is (hopefully) causing enough dissatisfaction and dissonance that we'll have to change ourselves, not that it hasn't existed for 400 years in America. lots of personal reckoning to deal with. i'm still struggling to get us to see it all around. glad the book is coming out. it's gonna be in quite a few people's stockings this year
