The US has some quirky traditions that are really important to Americans, but seem silly to people in other countries, like pardoning a turkey at Thanksgiving, asking a groundhog to predict the weather, or allowing the Electoral College to choose their president.
@dubiousgenius I think the Electoral Middle School chose the 45th President.
@dubiousgenius It gets worse. The “independent state legislature theory” Moore v. Harper @ Supreme Court Dec 7 could remove federal ability to challenge state gerrymandering & partisan election laws, and open the door for states to select their own slate of electors & override the popular vote.
@dubiousgenius I think the Electoral Middle School chose the 45th President.
@dubiousgenius We think it is stupid too.
@dubiousgenius
I’ll never be over the 2000 election coming down to the state ran by the candidate’s little brother. Conflict of interest all over the place. Then the Supreme Court giving us an 8 year sentence to the war monger.
