If selling cakes makes bakers participants in gay marriages, then selling assault rifles makes gun manufacturers participants in mass shootings.
@Strandjunker I wish I could re toot this (or whatever the frick you call it) one thousand times.
@Strandjunker I understand this is meant to make the bakers look stupid if they also don't support gun control. But if they then say "okay, I'll bake the cake", then the gun manufacturers are off the hook too.

@Strandjunker

I don't know how it could be anything but...
Manson wasn't an actual participant... but still reaped his just punishment. CEO's SHOULD be in the same category.

@Strandjunker 1: I wanna follow bc this makes me think. I see the comparison u make, but I rspctflly disagree it's a complete argument. I struggle to articulate why the 2 are too different to compare... why a cnsrvtve says don't bake gay cake but make guns and why a lbrl says bake gay cake but don't make guns... the baker allows gays to buy cakes on the shelf just like the gun maker. the baker doesn't want to bake gay cakes just like the gun maker doesn't want to make school shooting guns.
@Strandjunker 2: so, in the attempt to make cnsrvtves equate the 2, this is why they're not equal. no one is making "school shooting guns" the way lbrls are asking for "gay cakes." gun makers make guns and let you do what you want with them and bakers let u buy plain cake to do what u want. as a gay man, i don't want gay cakes from bigot bakers bc i dont want bigot bakers to have my money. i want ally bakers for my gay cakes. dont force bigots to bake gay so they dont get gay dollars.

@Strandjunker My initial instinct was the agree with this analogy. But as I thought more about it, I think it falls apart.

When you buy a cake from a baker, it's for a specific event. The baker is (usually) aware of the event and, at least in part, customizes the cake for that event.

When you buy an assault rifle, you are not going to the manufacturer and saying, 'I need a rifle for a mass shooting.'

The more accurate comparison would be comparing purchasing a mass-produced cake at a grocery store with purchasing an assault rifle. And at that level, the analogy doesn't have the same impact.

@Strandjunker Heck, if that logic applied, Merrick Garland would be seated on the SCOTUS today.
@Strandjunker I am so tired of it being "no one's fault". Guns don't kill, people do - they say. I say quit giving people guns then.
