@jendle Check out https://fedi.tips for some beginner tips. I found it helpful.
Do an intro post with hashtags— search #Introduction to get some ideas on how others have done it.
Follow a bunch of people to get started — search for people to follow using hashtags. Like posts you like (no algorithm so “like” means just that!). Boost posts you think others might want to see.
Start a conversation or start commenting on others!

@jendle I’m finding it a lot more fun than Twitter. Doing more “just for fun” posts and comments (search #caturday #DogsOfMastodon if you like those kinds of pets).

@jendle I just tried https://www.movetodon.org - it found 80 of the ~600 Twitter accounts I'm following, here on Mastodon, and I was able to follow all by tapping one button (or I could have scrolled through the list & chosen which accounts to follow, individually). Pretty cool! Oh & character limits on posts are set by your instance, i.e. mine (urbanists.social) is 500.
