I have direct confirmation of at least three people, now, discovering that their dead outlets and their light switches which don't do anything are in fact connected.

I don't know how this knowledge got lost, but I'll be damned if we don't get it back!

@TechConnectify how do you... How do you live in a place where one of the rooms has "broken" outlets and switches and not consider that maybe they are related?!

I wish I knew what the endlessly spinning timer in my garage was for. It's a time switch of some kind that you "program" by inserting on/off rods at the desired times. It's on an internal wall, so I can't imagine it's for an outside outlet or something.

@HunterZ @TechConnectify an outside outlet makes total sense, you don't want to leave your car's block heater on all night if you only need it running for an hour or so in the morning. If it's not that cold where you live out you don't park outside you could also use it as a timer for your Christmas lights
