I've come to understand that most people who try to tear down, discount or diminish those with long standing and reputations in the #opensource community do so because of jealousy and spite, pure and simply.

They know that they owe a debt to open source old-timers and it irritates them.

Well, I got something to tell you. We all owe a debt to people. We all see further because we are lucky enough to stand on the shoulders of giants.

@seldo I am under the opinion/understanding that RMS is neurodivergent, and although I may disagree, vehemently, with what he says, I try to be empathetic with him *as a person*. As Dicken's sez in A Christmas Carol, we are all "fellow-passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys."

@jimjag I'm neurodivergent myself; RMS may or may not be but he's also an asshole to people, and being neurodivergent is not a free pass to be a jerk.
