It's hard to overstate how much abuse I've been bombarded with on the bird app since Musk took it over with plenty of his MAGA acolytes engaging in ugly attacks and calling it "free speech." Meanwhile, Apple threatens to drop Musk's platform of abuse and he complains that they don't believe in "free speech." Sound familiar?
@StevenBeschloss how many times do we need to explain that the right to free speech refers to the freedoms from government limitations on speech. It does not mean the right to a megaphone to amplify any ugly thoughts or idea… it has nothing to do with guaranteed access to privately owned business services.

@jami @StevenBeschloss

it's depressing to have to keep saying the same damn thing.

it's that old frank wilhoit quote.

“there must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect”

the shibboleth of ‘free speech’ is just one more means by which this agenda is pursued, and it is always so blatantly obvious in the material result of any ‘free speech’ agenda being implemented.
