Really, Fletcher?

The Bell Inquiry found that Morrison's actions as PM were 'corrosive of trust in govt'.

.@[email protected] is delusional. What Fletcher is saying is that if an employee stole money from his employer and it wasn't discovered until he'd changed jobs then he shouldn't be punished as he's no longer employed there. It says much about Fletcher's (lack of) ethics. #auspol

@AaronDodd I'm still shocked that what he did wasn't criminal, or at least dismissal from holding public office of any type.

His own party should have kicked him out, let alone needed to be censured.

@Brightdave That is standard Liberal Party stuff. It wasn't "illegal" so it was OK to do. We should not need to rely on specific laws to control the behaviour of those elected to our Federal Parliament, but here we are. Should we really need a law saying you can't take on multiple ministries yourself without telling anyone, including the incumbents??? It really just demonstrates Morrison's complete absence of ethics. Bizarre for someone claiming to be a Christian.

@AaronDodd you've nailed that! That's a perfect description!

It's also what went on under Trump in the US (not the Christian part). If there's no law, but just an accepted rule or guideline, smash it and do whatever they want until a court intervenes.

The sheer arrogance and "born-to-rule" mentality is never more evident.
