What's the point of enacting change when society doesn't accept either real professionals or leaders and only reads in commercial corporate solutions to the existing mess? #OpenSource works well in small, contained projects. However when you try to branch out into other systems with Open Source, the existing paradigm rejects it because they think they're stuck with their legacy systems. What's the point of even trying?
And this isn't just minor things like the small ways a Website behaves or appears. This is major stuff like infrastructure where the big players are all locked into proprietary code and don't use federated/distributed models to deliver or handle stuff locally. They're monopolies. When I say 'commercial corporate' I mean the maximum profit model. Somehow we're still dealing with that paradigm in this day and age. It's bullshit. It's the reason I quit Twitter.
