@georgetakei I like when the decorations are more subtle and doesn't look like Hobby Lobby threw up all over the place. The warmth makes it look like people actually enjoy the decorations and the places they're set up in. The soft glow of the lights and stuff do make the blustery, cold and dark places more welcoming. That's the thing I do like about most x-mas decorating. I'm gonna go the Yule Log route myself, I think, instead. Doubt you could do that on the White House lawn.
Frankly, If I were president (or the wife), I wouldn't bother decorating. Or I'd let staffers do it in their own spaces the way they wanted to. Maybe a small tree in the family area just for us, but if others wanted to put up their own beliefs' holiday decorations or acknowledgment, I'd be cool with that.
Besides, I'd be the weirdo trying to find a flying spaghetti monster tree topper (or make my own). R'amen!
