[Thread] The (David) Bowie: From the Holiday Special to GOTG Volume 3 (May 2023)

After the Milano, the Quadrant and the Benatar, the Guardians use a new ship in the recent The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (Disney+, 2022). #GuardiansoftheGalaxyHolidaySpecial #GOTG

Yes, a ship design story will be published in 2023. I'm working on it 🤫

The last time we saw the Guardians was in Summer 2022 in Thor: Love and Thunder. They were still on board the Benatar.

This is no longer the case in Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special, which takes place later in the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline.

Why? We do not know yet. It is in any case very likely that this new ship, the Bowie, will be the one that the Guardians will use...

...in Volume 3, scheduled for May 5, 2023.

Indeed, Holiday Special was filmed at the same time as Vol.3, in the same sets, and given the care taken in the sets of the Bowie, there is no doubt that we will see it again soon.

But the Bowie already has a history. Like its predecessors, Milano (Alyssa) and Benatar (Pat), this ship is named in honor of a well-known human Peter Quill/Star-lord looked up to as a child.
This isn't David Bowie's first foray into Guardians of the Galaxy, however. The song Moonage Daydream (1971) was included in the soundtrack of the first film, just before the team arrives at knowhere.

@TheSpaceshipper which quickly became my favorite Bowie song, I must say. What a banger it is (in a career full of them, to be fair).
