Author friends, of which I know there are several here: Today (11/28/22) is the start of the Whatever 2022 Holiday Gift Guide, and today is specifically for traditionally-published authors, with tomorrow being for indie/self-pubbed authors. So if you're interested in promoting your work to my site's tens of thousands of daily readers (plus additional promo on my socials) these are the days. The link for today's post is below, and all the details you need are there.

Whatever Holiday Gift Guide 2022, Day One: Traditionally Published Books

Welcome to the first day of the Whatever Shopping Guide 2022 — Our way of helping you folks learn about cool creative gifts for the holidays, straight from the folks who have created them. Today’s …

Whatever
@scalzi will the non-traditional books include those published on Wattpad, etc?
@skribe The whole point is they are meant to be gifts, so if they can be given in such a manner, then, yes.
@scalzi What a great way to browse titles! I already know I have "reading Whatever" in common with these folks. Pulled a couple titles to gift myself, as well. ^_^

@scalzi @nerdseyeview

just trying to make sure you see this, Pam.

@scalzi Say, I had a new book out last october and I wonder if it fits the bill for tomorrow. It's an independent edition allright, but there's a catch: it's not in English. It's in Portuguese.

Would it be adecuate, or wouldn't it?

@jorgecandeias You can post it if you like but I don't know how many readers of the site know Portuguese.

@scalzi Well, I might do it, then, more as a form of activism (let's open the whole SF thing to the vast diversity of the world, linguistic and otherwise) than advertising.

If you're up to it, maybe other people from other linguistic bubbles (or from my own) follow suit.
