Yearly holiday reminder - if someone says they don't want an alcoholic drink, that's all they need to say. Unless they offer, it's none of your business if they're in recovery, have a health issue, or just don't feel like it. Don't be the one who makes it weird.
@darkgryphon42 Jesus Christ people do that? 😐
@yuki2501 @darkgryphon42 "are you sure?" "Haha, why not?" "Why wouldn't you want a drink?" "Yeah but it's just a party" "what about just one?" "Are you driving?"... I've found people just won't leave it a lone if you say calmly and politely "no thank you".
@loops @yuki2501 @darkgryphon42 This happened to me recently and I was honestly kind of surprised. In my typical social group we all understand that a no is a no. I was at an event at a studio and this older acquaintance would not let it go when I said I didn't want a beer. It definitely had more to do with her social discomfort than with me.
