There are protests all over China. Some are peaceful, some are a bit more violent. The number of the people involved are rather small compared to the sizes of the city, but it is the fact that they exist which is impressive. Chinese authorities never allow to have unsanctioned protests. This is in Beijing. #China #Beijing
@Tendar All dictatorships must die, China's is no exception. Their time will come.
@Tendar they will grow as lockdowns grow.
@Tendar There is no place for authoritarian states or dictatorships in 2022 - just like there is no place for theocracies.
@Tendar sadly I see a very hard crackdown coming from Beijing. I hope I'm wrong.
@Tendar Yes, that’s huge, it’s basically never happened in China since 1989!
@Tendar it'll be interesting to watch this play out over time

@Tendar
It's one of those things: If your policy is zero dissent, zero protests, then even small outbreaks automatically become a major crisis for the regime.

Kind of like Xi's zero COVID policy. It's becomes a trap.

@Tendar No governmental regime can withstand and survive a determined onslaught from its citizens when they unite and demand change. People can be oppressed to a point, and hopefully a red line’s been crossed. The abhorrent treatment of the Uyghurs already proved the Chinese government aren’t fit to rule.
Good luck to the protesters. Their courageous acts will inspire many, and their persistence could potentially change the world…
@Tendar People are tired of oppression.
