The same smarmy denialism & groupthink still exists in ID today. In fact, they now proclaim Semmelweis as a hero & hand washing as #1 defense against infectious disease eschewing 176 years of science & technology.

Talk about leading from behind.

Meanwhile, "Semmelweis Reflex" literally means the "tendency to reject new evidence or new knowledge because it contradicts established norms, beliefs, or paradigms."
