When the moral compass disappears—or in some cases never existed—and the only desire of the party collective is power for the sake of power and insatiable greed, values, ethics and basic humanity disappear. That’s what’s happened to what was once the Republican Party, which now stands for nothing but the aforementioned. When facts cease to matter, when science is rejected and “alternative facts” are considered a real thing, this is what you get.
