1/ This is the first published photo of Russian soldiers being held captive by the Russian army in a basement in the village of Zavitne Bazhannya. It reportedly shows 20 men being confined in a 5 m x 3 m space, with no toilet, no water, and food being provided only once a day. ⬇️
2/ The independent Russian ASTRA media group has published further details of the improvised prison facility that was first identified by The Insider (see thread below). The men being held there are mobilised soldiers who refuse to fight on the front line. Earlier reports said that the men were being held in "anti-sanitary conditions", where they were being used as labourers and being threatened periodically with being sent to the front line or being shot.

“1/ The independent Russian investigative newspaper The Insider appears to have found the location of a secret Russian basement-prison for refusenik soldiers, the existence of which was earlier reported by ASTRA (see below). Translated extracts follow: ⬇️ https://t.co/fDGhPSu5UE”

3/ According to the wife of one of the men, "They have not been in contact since 22 November. After 6 people were taken from there to work, there has been no connection. They made an attempt to call yesterday, but the connection was cut off."

It's likely that the men are being subjected to semi-starvation and intense psychological pressure to force them to return to the front line. The facility is one of at least 10 that the independent Russian media have so far identified. /end

@ChrisO_wiki I also follow you on twitter (waiting for everyone to migrate here). I just wanted to let you know that you can merge the 3 toots/tweets in one since the word limit is far greater here. Thanks for your work!
@hibakuxa Thanks, I'm already doing that! But sometimes it works better to keep the toots/tweets short.
