As a human rights lawyer I've worked on religious discrimination issues for decades—including how nations normalize violence against minorities via silence against their dehumanization.

GOP silence at Trump hosting a literal Nazi is devastating for American Jews & US democracy.

@QasimRashid Republicans later: “why does everyone say we’re Nazis!?!!?!!?”
@GrittyLipids @QasimRashid 🙄🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
@QasimRashid Trump is an abhorrent human, there really is no other way to describe someone who bullies, incites hatred and has done everything he can do to destroy democracy...
@QasimRashid They are not silent. They are saying they approve. After the last 6 years we need to accept that every single person who still calls themselves a Republican means to communicate they are antiSemites and racists. There is simply no other way to parse where we are as a nation.
@QasimRashid I wonder if it’s true that Trump had Thanksgiving dinner with this Nazi and Ye while his family ate in another room?
@QasimRashid It’s always been who they are - now it’s out in the open.
@QasimRashid GOP silence at Trump hosting a Nazi is also not great for LGBT+, atheists, and anyone else not wanting to live in a dystopian theocratic dictatorial hellscape.
@QasimRashid How church ministries have chosen to be silent is devastating too.
@QasimRashid This country can't keep playing nice with nazis. They're domestic terrorists, and they must be arrested and prosecuted for it before they're encouraged any further.
@QasimRashid seems it is devastating and dangerous for all of us. I need a space laser.
@QasimRashid watching the Ken Burns series. Frightening how the good folks just let it pass. I think we need to HOWL.
@QasimRashid Sadly, many liberals I interact with have been silent about this too. Why isn’t everyone shouting from their proverbial rooftops?
