@aoikurayami Like the article says, yes, it *can* definitely be degrading to a point, but it can also be used in a way that the #MPDG develops her own character and wants throughout the film or tv series. Apparently there have been attempts to make a Manic-Pixie-Dream-Guy but it doesn't work as well, with some notable exceptions....
