The thing about Bob Chapek is that he was the guy who pioneered the “send movies back into the ‘Disney Vault’ to limit their availability” method of home-media releases.
His callous approach was not new, if you were aware.
@mousterpiece I keep seeing that repeated, and maybe Chapek was the first to call it the "Disney Vault," but I think the strategy predates Chapek. It originated with Disney's theatrical re-release strategy and old school executives' fears of home media in general. From Disney War, describing executive discussions in the late '80s (Bill Mechanic was Chapek's predecessor):
