It’s #FollowFriday so boost this post and help God get more followers! The more people that follow Me here the more comedy people on Twitter will realize they should move to Mastodon!
@godpod Back in my day, #FollowFriday meant promoting cool people for your followers to follow. Is God chasing clout?
@accretor @godpod that is what I thought it meant. Making recommendations to your followers of accounts you love to follow. That’s what I’m trying to find among the self-promoting people.

@functioncreep That's what #FollowFriday meant in the old days and it probably still does, and more important it should. Especially with so many people arriving and looking for their communities.

But if we don't want Twitter-style behaviours here, it's up to us now not to feed those types of accounts. If people want to chase clout here, I'm not going to try to stop them. I am, however, going to unfollow from such people and move on. And mute if that's not enough.
