Kolektiva has grown a lot. With open registration and lots of hype around the fediverse, there's gonna be plenty of activity.

Be very wary of ppl casually posting sketchy things. Fash will be here; cops will be here; nothing on here is private; lots of accounts have no verification they are who they claim to be.

Anyways, this is not specific; we should just be smart, mind what we post, what we click, etc.

Okay fuck it I'll be more specific... if you're boosting some "doxx" from sUpEr-rEal-nazi-leaks.co.uk (or some similarly rando / suspect source), maybe just don't though.

Folks doing intentional antifascist work are disciplined for a reason. Posting bunk info, failing to confirm things, or even simply posting info that is overly broad or absent context... this is a problem on so many levels.

There's a reason folks look to NYC AFA, IGD, CoSprings, etc... these folks establish rigorous standards because it matters. A lot.

Take this stellar work from @AtlantaAntifa as an example (https://atlantaantifa.org/2021/12/04/ian-michael-elliott-alabama-patriot-front-member-neo-nazi-and-combat-instructor/); there is copious detail, confirmation of key information; clear purpose behind why that info was shared; broader context; collaboration with partners; action items; follow-up and article updates. This isn't to say that every bit of antifascist research/ publishing needs to be quite this caliber, but like we can't be sloppy.

Whether it's the wrong person getting hurt, someone catching charges, or tarnishing the credibility and effectiveness of broader antifascist efforts, it matters to get shit right and be strategic.

Ian Michael Elliott: Alabama “Patriot Front” Member, Neo-Nazi, and Combat Instructor – Atlanta Antifascists

@AnarchoDoggo thanks a lot, we appreciate it! We put a lot of work into that doxx and are still following up on it a year later. But yes, the quality of the information has to be good, it has to be double-checked, and there has to be follow-up.
@AtlantaAntifa appreciate yall's work a ton. Much respect
