For a research I'm working on, I have a google alert set up for "Elon Musk, Mars colony". This is what the alert showed me this morning. This guy and, most importantly, many of his fans are an example of the issues that I have with the "lone tech genius" narrative that goes around in the tech discourse. Come on: try telling me now that technology (and the cutlure around it) is neutral.
