Sam Clifford@popeawesomexiii @milesmcbain at least in the case of Brisbane, Australia, it's because the Lord Mayor took a look at the freeways that Los Angeles had in the 1960s and thought that was a pretty good system to emulate.
@samclifford Not sure the history of public transporation in Oz, I know we have a billionaire problem but then you guys have Rupert Murdoch, so...
