@lightweight exactly the reason I moved from github to sourcehut + selfhosted cgit.

I dont want this to happen on githubs terms.

@theorytoe I moved to 2 self-hosted Gitlabs... but now uncomfortable with their open core biz model... pondering my next move. And I think it's good to avoid using US-owned/domiciled companies if possible for hosting due to DMCA, US Cloud, and Patriot Acts which are massive overreach.

@lightweight if you're looking for software.

gitea is hands down the best choice if you are familar with gitlab.

@theorytoe I've been eyeing it up, but am a bit concerned it might go the same way as Gitlab give its dev lead's recent blog post...

I have a bit of concern to. (i dont particularly agree with drew on his takes)

but it seems as the whole is open, so theres oppertunity to fork if needed.

Also sucks that the debian packages kinda stink.
