I love this show. The producers said, "Enough with the subtlety and allegory. These people still aren't getting it. Gloves off! Hit them with the uncut 100% pure!"

I love to see it. 👍🏿

Well written, well acted, well filmed.

Andor and Rogue One are my two favorite Star Wars things.

@mekkaokereke it's so good for these reasons and also as storytelling, it's pretty remarkable how it the main storyline became a totally different one every few episodes. That's *not* an easy thing to pull off and they did it flawlessly
@mekkaokereke
I've been on the fence about it since I was kind of Star Wars'd out, but I kept seeing great things about it. I think your post was the final push I needed!
@CassOfDunshire @mekkaokereke I was feeling this way too, but I'm glad I took the chance on it. It hits different.
@mekkaokereke I've never seen any of the TV shows that are Star Wars based. Are there any prerequisites for watching Andor?
@wesley83 @mekkaokereke No, I'm pretty sure it doesn't tie into other stuff. It's a prequel to the Rogue One film. Most of the other stuff is set after ROTJ.

@wesley83 @mekkaokereke

Jumping in (because it's awesome, and live too recommend it), the movie Rogue One introduces the main character, but if your vaguely familiar with "the galactic empire" and "the rebellion" you know everything you need to know.

@mekkaokereke @wesley83 It is a prequel, so no prerequisites required.

Found the first 1-2 episodes a bit underwhelming or boring frankly. But somewhere around ep. 4-5 a different tone, pace and style had won me over.

It is a great series that just happens to be SciFi.

@wesley83 @mekkaokereke nope. I don't even think it requires knowing anything about Star Wars at all. Which is part of what's great about it, it's not stuck paying homage to a bunch of silly canon
@louis @wesley83 I agree! You can jump right into this without having seen any Star Wars movies or shows at all.
@mekkaokereke Utterly moving. I’m pretty sure we’re getting another season, which will also be great, but I also want a prequel series for Rose Tico and her sister, and a series a for Finn. I don’t love the “blow everything up and reveal that the foundling is actually royal” parts of Star Wars, but the “ordinary people fighting tyranny” genre just wows me.
@thisNina Same! That genre is so much more compelling!

@mekkaokereke

Tony Gilmore is doing a terrific job. If only he worked on 7,8,9

@mekkaokereke 100% agree. The design elements are amazing, the character drama compelling, and the message about fascism is relevant.
This is the way.
