meti.pro 🌿Reading The Circle by Dave Eggers this week. (Again lol) It's a relevant book.
Yaseen, Yaseen of Yaseen 🏳️⚧️@meti I think this book is one of those books I recommend people know about but not read - like Neal Stephenson. The ideas and premises contained within are prescient and interesting but like Stephenson, Eggers writes a book and doesn't go far enough with it. Obviously if you're reading it twice, your opinion is the exact opposite of mine haha!! But The Circle is one of those books that has become more relevant (like Snowcrash by Stephenson).
@yassie_j It's quite the cringy experience reading it again now that I'm a bit older! Don't know if I'll make it through the whole a second time. It's good to freshen up though. 😅
@meti cringe. Yeah. That's... That's a good way of explaining my exp with the book haha. My reading was this books is very close to making the point it set out to, but doesn't do it justice. I felt very cheated by the end that I wasted my time on it.
