The #stay movement on Twitter seems futile to me. He owns the company, is actively antagonizing everyone that isn't a conservative, and will use sustained or increasing Twitter usage to prove to investors that his moves are brilliant.

This isn't like Trump where you can vote him out of office or elect senators to check him. And if mocking elmo was effective enough to stop him, we won't be in this mess in the first place. He wins as long as we *need* Twitter.

@ankaracode Yeah, pretty much agree. I think the advice in that article not to actually delete your account but just not to use it any more is sound, just in case Twitter recovers one day, but I'm not planning on using it much from now on.

@statsguy @ankaracode I go on there purely to promote mastodon, posting links to the Mastodon app. The trick to not provide him with free content & instead put out content w/ some sort of value on Mastodon.
