Before we start up the annual “Mary Did You Know” discourse, let me just say two things: 1. It is beautiful that a popular song engages in conversation with Mary. This Protestant turned #Catholic turned #Episcopalian is 100% here for more of all things Marian. And 2. This song also allows space for people to think through the humanity/divinity of Jesus when they might not otherwise contemplate it.
So yes, of course she knew. But it doesn’t totally negate its mystical value. #wct
