Watched the first episode and was pleasant surprised. The humor is exactly the correct level of darkness. They found a way to keep the focus on Wednesday, while allowing the rest of the family to be background characters that occasionally interact with her.

The real test will be to see if they can keep the show at this level for the entire season.
