One of the big issues I see is that most of the people who complain loudly about Musk and Twitter also realize that Twitter gives them access to a much larger potential audience than any Fediverse instance ever will. And for all Twitter's many problems, it's tough to turn away from such a big megaphone if you want to get a message out.

@floralashes I've been keeping my account there open, but I think the time has come to lock it and never look back.
There are lefties there who are trying to hold their ground, but it's becoming increasingly clear that is a battle that cannot be won so long as the platform is owned by Musk. It's time to abandon the ship and leave it to the rats.
Personally, I hope it ruins Musk so bad he's forced into personal bankruptcy.

spec@floralashes I was suspended over two weeks ago for calling out anti-vaxx trolls. I posted links to credible sources, and included a choice sentence from the link.
The trolls flagged me for "targeted harassment", on a thread with nearly two dozen participants.
My appeal has gone unanswered, likely due to the mass exodus.
