Nearly 30 years after failing to learn guitar and have tried to get back into it sporadically over the years, I made a commitment to learn it again this year and after a 12 week course, I'm so freaking excited to be able to play a number of open chords.

The thrilling part is that I know and remember what the chord shapes are. Now just practicing on making them faster.

My strumming almost sounds like a song. 😃

@abihari Well done, like you I tried learning guitar years ago and gave up. I fancy trying piano and am looking out for a secondhand electronic one.

@lilmsmally My daughter has been doing piano for a number of years and she's enjoying it. I've always enjoyed music and being able to play would be awesome.

For me, at least, taking the lessons helped because that gave a lot of foundation for me to start with and now when I see/read other information it makes a lot more sense and I can build on it on my own.

@abihari my dad went for lessons when he restarted piano, he had them as a kid but began again in his 50s.

@lilmsmally There really is no age that you can't pick up an instrument. Given enough patience and practice, I'm sure it'll be an enjoyable hobby.

I have to no illusions of starting a new career in music.
