@saj I know thank “bach” means “stream, little river”, but what about “ricken”? Is “Rickenbach” a play of words?

no, a Rick is just an old swiss word for a geographical feature (a narrow, elongated trough alongside a mountain slope, from what i've gathered) which incidentally is a common place to find creeks. the word has since fallen out of use from what i know. these are all settlements named "Rickenbach" though! there are numerous streams called that in different places nearby too
