Alan Elettronico“Arcade Decade” is receiving pleasing reviews from playlisters, but most of them say they find it hard to fit in in a proper genre: it has a disco rythm section but a chiptune synth section, falling out of classic synthwave instrumentation. This makes me happy to have made something noteworthy for its quirkness .
Mirrorvoid@alanelettronico - It’s my experience that anything that deviates from established stylistic parameters and “stands out” too much in a curated “genre” playlist gets rejected. I find a lot of playlists are like sonic wall paper, functional background noise geared towards an activity, so, very homogenic. They have their place though, no doubt.
I added Arcade Decade to my "distracting" playlist. Now, if I can just get off my ass and promote it! :)
