@thomas Nice post Thomas! I agree with your points. Certs aren't a silver bullet and definitely not a substitute for experience, but as you stated: "getting certified is worth it if you use it as intended". :)

@thomas Definitely lots of opinions. I used to be in the camp that thought since certifications weren't a substitute for experience, it wasn't worthwhile getting certifications. I've definitely changed my opinion on that. While certs aren't perfect, I think they can be a good opportunity for a SF professional to display competency/focus in a particular area. I also realized that when I looked to hire SF technical talent, certs were one of the things I looked for
