I don’t like him, I don’t like how he words it and how rude he is, but he does have a point.
When all settled down I think most, not all will return or at the bare minimum keep and account on twitter.
A lot of ppl don’t spend the time to get to know Mastodon and just say to hell with it. The likes of Hive Social is going to need a lot of investment if it’s to rival twitter.
Unless large companies leave and start posting on other platforms, I don’t see much changing once everything settles down
@Dorwrath I agree. I do think that another site can take over but something like that is not gonna happen over night. However, let's not forget that there aren't enough people to run Twitter right now. If the site starts to break down for days and maybe even weeks on end, people WILL be forced to look for alternatives.
@SaddlerFan still think that’s a big if, but I agree if something big happens and for a substantial length of time then sure, I agree.
@Dorwrath Yeah it all depends on whether he realizes in time that he needs a bit more people to run things. I work in IT, I know that well-designed systems like Twitter run basically by themselves... until a problem comes up. THAT's when things are going to get interesting. But then, it's in his interest as well that Twitter is up and running - he craves the attention. So, he's probably gonna scramble to fix it.
