@gretathunberg 100% agree. Of course I'm all for a loss and damage fund for countries suffering from the worst effects of climate change, but, this should only be delivered either alongside or after we have robust measures in place to meet the 1.5c pledge from the Paris Agreement!

@gretathunberg without a comprehensive global technical solution (which is possible, and we don’t have) political commitments on paper mean nothing anyway. Conferences like #COP27 are a fools errand. Even if everybody did their best it would not fix the problem. We need #CLIMATEENGINEERING1 not COP28.

One can only imagine what next year’s COP28 will yield, being held in the United Arab Emirates, where oil exports make up 30 percent of the country’s gross domestic product.
