I also remember thinking: “This doesn’t sound like a good thing”.

@ifilljustice @PJLavatai we were probably old enough to think it sounded aggressive, but not quite old enough to fully understand the racist and Christofascist underpinnings of the doctrine.

I may have had a less indoctrinated perspective because I was not raised religious, never went to Church. Pretty sure both my parents were agnostic. They also travelled a lot and had a wider worldview. I am thankful for that.

I never went to church as a child. In my later years I was “saved”, became a member of the church board, treasurer, teacher, an Christian Apologist.
Well rounded, I suppose.
